It was Erik's choice this week and not surprisingly he chose 2005.

In the NRL Parramatta won the minor premiership, but Wests Tigers won the title and Benji Marshall became the most replayed player in NRL history.

In the AFL Sydney Swans beat West Coast in the first of two epic Grand Finals. But it took some Nick Davis magic two weeks earlier for the Swans to even make the big one.

England regained The Ashes and consigned Australia to 15 years of searching for the all-rounder to match Freddie Flintoff. Shane Warne took 40 wickets to keep Australia close.

And headlining the other sports. Tiger Woods chipped in on the 16th hole at Augusta to break the hearts of Chris Dimarco and Pies. Tiger eventually won The Masters on the first playoff hole and created the only image that gets replayed more often than Benji's flick. That Nike Swoosh dangling above the hole.

Makybe Diva won her third straight Melbourne Cup and completed the Cox Plate - Melbourne Cup double capturing the hearts and minds of a nation along the way.

Erik, The Producer and Pies are back with a slightly different show this week. We tackle the NRL from a current perspective of getting the games back on. And then we come up with some solutions to problems that exist or otherwise.

COVID-19 has Australia and the various states in virtual lockdown. Since Coronavirus first hit our shores, there's been no sport played around the country. We examine Peter V'Landys' timeframe of a 28 May return and Pies has a solution that can get the footy back on by then.

The second half of this show will be a bit more timeless than the first half. We tackle the big picture of the NRL moving forward. Team numbers, broadcast rights, rules and refereeing, promotion and relegation and jersey numbers. Not all the ideas get past the spitballing stage. But at least we're considering them.

Pies, Erik and The Producer are back to review 1996.

Manly beat St George in the ARL Grand Final after one of the bigger blunders in GF history. Dragons fans will tell you it was the turning point. But did they really look like threatening Manly coming from 7th against the minor premiers?

Sydney Swans gathered huge momentum in the AFL. Tony Lockett won the Coleman medal and the Swans made the Grand Final, ultimately losing to North Melbourne.

Sri Lanka won the Cricket World Cup hosted by India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Australia made the final but they were no match for the co-hosts. Your memory may be of Kaluwitharana and Jayasuriya throwing the bat at everything. But was that actually the case?

Atlanta hosted to Olympics. There were quite a few great performances. Michael Johnson and Marie-Jose Perec won 200m 400m doubles. Donovan Bailey won the 100m and in the pool Kieren Perkins overcame lane 8 to stun the swimming world.

Plus the Chicago Bulls won 72 games and a title and Aussie Graeme Lloyd pitched in a World Series Championship won by the NY Yankees.

Now that sport is on hold globally, we have decided to review years in sport. First year on the block is 2003.

Resident historian Erik Nielsen is back with The Producer and Pies to rediscover some of the gems from 2003.

Penrith Panthers won the 2003 NRL Premiership defeating the Sydney Roosters in the Grand Final.

Brisbane Lions defeated Collingwood Magpies in the AFL Grand Final to complete their Back to Back to Back.

And Ricky Ponting made mountains of runs in test cricket and one day internationals capped off with a master class in the World Cup Final.

Australia hosted the Rugby World Cup. England won the final with Jonny Wilkinson's boot the difference.

And there was an eventful Kangaroo Tour of the UK and France.

The coronavirus has shut down all major sports. Pies and The Producer are in isolation. But thanks to the wonders of the NBN, we're still pumping out shows.

We recap the first two weeks of the NRL. Celebrate the Eels being on top for at least the next two months and probably longer.

The AFL only managed to play one round in front of no fans before shutting down. Richmond and the Giants looked good. Port Adelaide lead on percentage going into hibernation.

We touch on the A-League, EPL and the NBL decision to award the title to Perth Wildcats.

And then we look ahead to the future. Covid-19 won't stop us bringing out shows. So we're going into history mode and reviewing years through a sporting lense. Stay tuned to our social media for updates. And if you have a favourite year you'd like reviewed, hit us up.

It's the 2020 NRL Season Preview show. Pies and BS in studio to discuss each team in the NRL. How they line up for week 1. We pick our Top 8's including a very controversial non-selection. Then tell you why Parramatta will win it all. And we discuss NRL Supercoach.

First up we recap the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Australia smashed India in the Final. Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney were on fire and the Aussie bowlers strangled India out of it.

And we finish off with a bit of Motorsport. Formula 1 and Supercars descend upon Albert Park, Melbourne for Round 1 of the F1 season.

Pies and The Producer in the studio for a last short sharp episode before the footy seasons kick off in a few weeks.

Swainy is on the line to catch up with all the Rugby news. The Brumbies are on a roll after a big win in New Zealand. We discuss Swainy's efforts on the Fox Rugby Podcast and try to predict the fate of the Sunwolves season. How SANZAAR deal with coronavirus in Japan and the threat to players and officials as well as broadcasters may be a pointer to the biggest sporting event of the next four years. The Olympics coming up in Tokyo later this year.

The Women's T20 World Cup is underway in Australia. BS has caught a bit of it. Australia went down in their first game but are back on track. Meanwhile India appear to be headed to the Semis with two strong wins.

In soccer and the EPL is pretty much over. Liverpool eked out another couple of wins over Norwich and West Ham. While in the battle for second, Man City beat Leicester. Champions League knockout stage kicked off last week and after this mornings games we're ready for the return legs in a few weeks.

Supercars revved for 2020 with the Adelaide 500. Jamie Whincup won the first race with Scott McLaughlin taking out race 2 to lead the championship early doors.

In the NRL, trial games have kicked off with a number of in-game and also training injuries so far this season. The All Stars game went down on the Gold Coast with the Maori All Stars taking it out over the Indigenous All Stars. Pies' favourite player Brandon Smith was huge in the Maori win.

Pies and The Producer are back with a late recap of Super Bowl LIV. The Chiefs were too potent for the 49ers to handle.

The Summer of cricket wrapped up this week with David Warner winning the AB Medal. There's been debate and outrage over Warner's victory. But perhaps it was just a really good year for Australian cricket.

Super Rugby and the World Rugby 7's have kicked off. And the TV rights are up in the air. Our mate Swainy has filled in on the Fox Rugby Podcast. Check him out there.

The true test of #PiesKnows faces Liverpool as Pies has annointed them champions of England. Can the Reds hold on, with the weight of Pies hanging around their necks?

And the NRL continue to balls up simple things. The latest weirdness is courtesy of the 9's tournament in Perth.

Happy New Year! Even though January is almost over, holidays, sickness and apathy have meant this is our first show back for 2020. Welcome back to our long time listeners and if you're new to our audience we hope you enjoy the show.

After holiday pleasantries we're back into it with a recap of how much Australia pumped New Zealand in the Test Series. It turns out they aren't that good on big boy grounds eh?

We catch up on the NFL Playoffs and look ahead to Super Bowl LIV in Miami. We tip the winner of one of the more intriguing big games in a while.

The Summer of Tennis has been fantastic. Plenty of Aussie heroes and one major redemption story in Nick Kyrgios. Who can win it from here and can Ash Barty keep the party going for two more matches?

After Pies departs, The Producer and Big Mendy talk about the new season of Rugby 7s, Soccer and Basketball.

Then Mendy wows us with his Other Sports segment. Featured sports this week include: WWE Royal Rumble, Darts, Youth Winter Olympics, Downhill Skiing, Rally Motorsport, Field Hockey, Water Polo, Bathurst 12 hour, UFC, Boxing, NRL and possibly our first time talking about Sumo!
